  • We bulk bill DVA card holders and children under 16 for general practice consults. Additional costs may apply for specialist services at KMA. We are a private billing medical practice. Should you fail to pay accounts, we can refuse further medical services.

  • Yes, it is a legal requirement that the patient has an appointment to get a referral.

  • It is a legal requirement you have an appointment with the doctor for a script. We can currently offer phone appointments for some services if you meet the criteria of the Medicare Benefits Schedule.

  • Sometimes, doctors may run late due to emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances. We encourage patients to phone and see how their doctor is running before coming in. If waiting might be problematic, or if you live close to KMA, it may be more convenient to wait at home.

  • Like in all regional areas, the recruitment of doctors is very challenging. Attracting doctors to relocate and settle in rural areas is an ongoing issue. We encourage you to express your concerns to your local member of parliament.

  • We are a teaching general practice that involves having doctors complete rural rotations as part of their training. This is also an excellent opportunity for doctors to be exposed to rural general practice and choose to stay with us longer.

  • The theatre fee paid on the day of your surgery only contributes towards the costs of sterilisation, consumables, nurse assistance and utilities required for your procedure. Please be aware the theatre fee does not include the fee payable to the surgeon for your procedure.
