Staff Profile – Dr Hannah Wellington

What made you decide to become a doctor?
Originally I wanted to be a physiotherapist, but in my year off after school a GP from home convinced me to do some work experience with him in the ED and he convinced me medicine would be more fun! I loved biology/science and studying + a challenge, so medicine seemed to suit me. Now I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!

What do you enjoy most about working at KMA?
I love the team/group approach, including the group of GPs, practice nurses and admin staff.

What are your interests/hobbies outside of work?
I’m playing netball for Bute, I like art and I’m learning to sew! I love the opportunity to have a “crafternoon”.

3 Facts you didn’t know about Hannah!
I’m Victorian (Don’t hold it against me! I grew up in Mildura).
I can’t get out of the car until the song has finished. Or if I have to, I have to fade it out slowly.
I’m a chocoholic (Can finish off a whole block in one go).
